Vampires grow weary of the modern technologically-minded world in Jim Jarmusch’s off-kilter love story.
Reclusive rock star Adam (Tom Hiddleston), collector of vinyl and guitars, has endured centuries of blood-sucking but decides to end his life in Detroit and orders a fabled wooden bullet.
Meanwhile Adam’s wife Eve (Tilda Swinton) is in Tangiers hanging out with undead playwright Christopher Marlowe (John Hurt) and availing herself of his supply of uncontaminated blood. Over a Skype call she senses her spouse’s mounting distress and catches a night flight home to halt his descent into the oblivion.
Shortly after she arrives and raises Adam’s spirits, her wildchild younger sister from Los Angeles, Ava (Mia Wasikowska), gatecrashes the idyllic reunion and causes ructions, requiring drastic action from the weary lovers.
