Establishing a brisk tone from its opening sequence, Cal Brunker’s uninspired computer-animated adventure charts a predictable course from conflict to reconciliation as feuding alien siblings put their differences aside to overcome the galaxy’s great menace: man.

Crack astronaut Scorch Supernova (voiced by Brendan Fraser) rejects the warning of his nerdy brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), and sets off on a mission to the notoriously dangerous planet of Earth and is caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner). It’s up to risk-adverse Gary to save the day. Vocal performances are solid, including Ricky Gervais as a sarcastic computer.
