Films explore industrial action

A SEASON of film screenings at Sheffield’s Showroom Cinema began yesterday and runs until Tuesday, March 26, examining how industrial action has been explored through cinema.

Dr Mike Foley from the University of Sheffield’s Centre for Peace History helped create the series as part of its a series of films about peace and social justice hosted at the Showroom Cinema.

Made in Dagenham, The Battle for Orgreave and The Happy Lands look at three of the most important periods of strike action in the 20th century.

They will be followed by Q&A sessions with experts.
