Check-up on blankets
PENSIONERS in Rotherham are being warned to have their electric blankets tested before plugging them in this winter.
Age Concern Rotherham is holding a free blanket testing session in a bid to make sure that older people can sleep safely in their beds.
The charity says that old, worn and potentially damaged blankets will be repaired, or replaced on the spot free of charge by the Electricity Safety Council. The testing day is being held at Age Concern's head office in St Ann's Road on Thursday October 25.
