Chase ends in smash

A CAR thief led police on a chase around Nether Green, Sheffield, yesterday before smashing into a parked car and fleeing.

The man was driving a silver Renault Clio car – reported stolen in Rotherham – when he failed to stop for a traffic officer.

A “brief pursuit” ended when he smashed into a green VW Polo and fled.

Officers arrested a man from Gleadless on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
