Celebration of dreams and aspirations

MORE than 90 Sheffield people with learning disabilities toasted their successes at an event held to celebrate their achievements and dreams.

Joined by their families, friends and support teams, people presented films and photographs about their achievements, and then danced the night away.

The celebration event, at The Royal Victoria Holiday Inn, was organised by Dimensions, a not-for-profit organisation who support people with learning disabilities around the city.

Dimensions ran a competition to make 50 dreams come true for the people it supports, which included trips on the Orient Express and driving days at racetracks.

Regional director Lisa Watchorn said: “This event was all about celebrating people’s dreams. It sends out a strong message that people with learning disabilities have dreams and aspirations like everybody else.”
