THE LIFE of legendary children's writer Roald Dahl was celebrated by Sheffield literature lovers in a host of themed events at a city bookshop.

Waterstone’s last year held a day of celebrations to mark what would have been Roald Dahl’s 90th birthday.

And the birthday bonanza was such a success, bosses at the Orchard Square venue decided to do it again.

The 2007 party for the creator of characters including the BFG and Danny the Champion of the World ties in with celebrations for the precinct’s 20th anniversary.

And there will be further events in Orchard Square tomorrow from 11am to 3pm, including balloon modelling, magic shows, face painting, prize giveaways, and a giant birthday cake.
