Car scratched, tyres slashed in yobs' vandalism spree

YOBS went on a vandalism spree in Sheffield scratching cars and slashing tyres.

Police today called on the community to help them catch the vandals who left 25 vehicles damaged.

Vehicles parked on the Deer Park and Woodfarm estates in Stannington were scratched with a sharp implement and had their tyres slashed between 10pm on Monday and 3am on Tuesday.

Inspector Phil Barraclough, from Hillsborough, Upperthorpe and Deepcar Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We need the assistance of people in the community to call the police and tell us what they know.

“This type of criminal and anti-social behaviour is totally unacceptable.”
