Bowel cancer screening

MEN and women over the age of 60 in north east Derbyshire are being invited to take part in the new NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, which gets under way in the area this month.

The NHS has introduced the programme to help detect bowel cancer at an early stage when treatment is more likely to be effective.

Derbyshire is one of 16 areas across the country in the first wave of the national screening programme. All patients aged between 60 and 69 and registered with a GP in north east Derbyshire will be invited to take part in the bowel cancer screening programme.
