But plenty of those attending Sheffield community gala Bands & Blooms were more than with it when it came to flowers - and they got to enjoy an extra day of the blossoming event.

So successful have organisers been with their annual gathering - designed to bring the communities of north Sheffield that little bit closer - that it has become a two-day affair at High Green's Angram Bank Pavilion.

Tenants and Residents Associations from Angram Bank, Mortomley, and Lane End were behind the weekend activities, with backing from Sheffield Homes.

A lottery grant of 5,000 enabled organisers to expand the event to two days.
