Bear facts of lost property

LOST teddy bears are the number one item handed in on the rail line between Sheffield and London.

The lost property office at St Pancras station in London - the terminus of the Sheffield line - says bears have overtaken brollies as the item most often left on trains. Staff are now trying to reunite them with their owners.

"It used to just be umbrellas, coats and wallets, but teddy bears are taking over," said Mickael Boinot, Midland Mainline's lost property officer.

"We have had more than 100 this year and some have never been claimed."
