Baseball bat thugs beat and stab victim

A MAN was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed in a violent daytime attack in Sheffield.

The victim, a 20-year-old from the Gleadless area, was confronted by two men in Norfolk Park and attacked before being chased out onto Park Grange Road.

He ran along the tram tracks in an attempt get help where a white estate car stopped and the driver, a white male, asked if he could help.

The victim says the attack continued at the side of the car and he recalls being close to a tram stop at the time.

Several other vehicles are also believed to have stopped and a large black male shouted at the attackers from his car.

Another car, described as small and blue or grey in colour, stopped and the driver, a white man with white hair, gave the victim a lift to a nearby address.

The man received puncture wounds to his back and legs, severe bruising to his arm and cuts on the back of his neck.

He was taken to the Northern General Hospital and later discharged.

Both attackers were aged about 20. One was of mixed race, 6ft, with short hair, of slim build, wearing a black hip-length coat and dark jeans.

The other was black, 6ft 4in, with curly black hair about 1 inch in length. He was wearing a black coat with goggles in the lapel, and black Nike trainers with Velcro straps.
