A GANG of men armed with baseball bats stormed two Sheffield pubs within an hour of each other - assaulting four men who were out drinking.

The first incident happened at a pub on Station Road, Halfway, last Sunday at around 4.30pm.

A 22-year-old man and a 28-year-old were out with friends when the group entered the pub and assaulted them with the bats.

The 22-year-old suffered a fractured cheekbone, while the 38-year-old broke his leg. Both received cuts and bruises.

Just half an hour later what is believed to be the same gang arrived at a pub on Eckington Road, Beighton, where two 25-year-old men were standing drinking at the bar.

The men surrounded them and assaulted them with the bats, breaking their teeth and inflicting cuts and bruises. One of the men suffered a fractured jaw.

Officers are currently linking the two incidents and it is believed that the men arrived and left the premises in a white minibus on both occasions.

One of the men was white, bald and of stocky build.
