Band needs your brass
STANNINGTON Brass Band is hoping to drum up extra revenue by inviting supporters to become patrons.
Patrons pay an annual subscription of 45 and in return receive four free tickets and refreshments at the October concert held at the Lomas Hall, Stannington. They also receive reserved seats at all three concerts.
The band, which is currently enjoying its highest ever position at the top of the Yorkshire Area First Section, is self-financed with no major sponsorship.
It relies on its own fundraising efforts to raise the 14,000 a year to pay for music, travel, contests, rehearsal rooms, insurance and instruments.
