Awards scheme in memory of Paul

AN AWARDS scheme has been set up to honour Sheffield's community champions in memory of a housing officer who was dedicated to improving neighbourhoods.

People are encouraged to nominate individuals or groups who have made an outstanding contribution to the area in which they live.

Categories in the Paul Key Community Champions Awards are Community Champion Outstanding Resident, Community Champion Group and Young Community Champion – for people under 18. A prize of 100 is being offered to the winners.

Married father-of-two Paul Key, aged 36, died after a sudden illness.

Mr Key worked for Sheffield Homes' Community Engagement Team and in the Southey and Owlerton area, providing advice for tenants' and residents' associations.

Closing date for entries is December 20 and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in the New Year. Nomination forms are available by emailing [email protected] or calling 0114 273 5566.
