Award for 999 staff

AMBULANCE staff have been given an award for their work with Barnsley youngsters.

Life support trainers Garry Barrs and Ian Cook taught first aid to 14-16-year-olds as part of the Barnsley Young Apprenticeships programme - which made the award. They also gave career advice.

Garry said: “Being able to help young people who aren’t sure what they want to do is really fulfilling for us.

“Receiving an award for doing our job is unexpected but fantastic.”
