Avoid gas poisoning

ADVICE and information about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning is on offer at a safety roadshow.

The event, at Meadowhall shopping centre on Saturday October 20 and Sunday 21 is being organised by UK gas safety watchdog Corgi. From 9am on Saturday and from 11am on Sunday experts will be on hand to discuss the dangers, causes and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Storytelling session

A GYPSY storyteller is holding sessions at Barnsley’s Cannon Hall Museum, as part of a free month-long exhibition on traveller history. Richard O’Neill will be telling his tales on Sunday November 4, at 1pm and 3pm, as part of the Passing Places display, which opened yesterday.

ROD Kersh has been appointed consultant physician and geriatrician at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, having previously worked at the Royal Hallamshire and Northern General Hospitals in Sheffield.

Bridge club is moving

BARNSLEY Bridge Club is moving home and will now meet at Shaw Lane sports club. Chairman Roger Gascoyne says the move will allow the club to develop.
