South Yorkshire band The Sherlocks to perform their postponed Sheffield show

Their 2019 dates had to be delayed because of health issues, so they now play the O2 Academy on Friday, February 21.

The band, who come from Bolton upon Dearne near Barnsley, are made up of two sets of brothers, Kiaran and Brandon Crook and Andy and Josh Davidson.

The Sherlocks released their second album Under Your Sky on October 4 on Infectious Music.

The album’s lead single NYC (Sing It Loud) was championed by DJ Annie Mac at Radio 1.

Writer Kiaran Cook said of the single: “It was the first proper American tour we’d done and I was blown away by the place.

“The other side was wishing certain people could be there to see it with me. When you know people are at home and you’re having such a good time, you think, ‘If you could see what I’m seeing.’

“Even though I’m in New York, I’m still thinking about people at home who I wish could see New York who have never been and may never go.”

The songwriting on the album was described as more mature than their 2017 debut, Live For The Moment.

A band who have played alongside The Sherlocks are in town the following night at Network 2 on their first headline tour.

Liverpool five-piece Paris Youth Foundation have also released their first single, Home Is Where The Heart Is, since signing to Modern Sky UK.

Frontman and songwriter Kevin Potter said: “Home Is Where The Heart Is is very much a love song at its core.

“It’s about that rare time in break-up, where you kind of don’t want to be sad or argue any more. You just want to appreciate the time and the memories for what they were.”​​​​
