Sleeping Beauty, this year's production - performances most days now to January 3, 2022 - also returns the city's legendary and beloved panto dame, incomparable funnyman Damian Williams.

Joining him this year is a stella star cast including Benidorm comedy great Janine Duvitski as the fairy.

Sponsored by CityGrab and produced by award-winning Evolution Productions, Sleeping Beauty promises to be hilarious and fun-filled for all the family, with lavish sets, belly laugh jokes and everyone’s favourite ghost bench gag.

Written and directed by regular pantomime producer Paul Hendy, this will be the fourteenth year Sheffield Theatres and Evolution Pantomimes have produced the Sheffield Lyceum pantomime.

It is Damian’s thirteenth year in panto at the Lyceum.

A star of theatre musicals and a CBeebies favourite, his first love is comedy and he has played his idol Tommy Cooper on stage and screen.

Also sharing the spotlight will be actor, presenter and comic Ben Thornton (Cinderella), Lucas Rush (Damian’s Pop-Up Panto!, Rock of Ages), Hannah Everest (Gypsy) and Dominic Sibanda (Hairspray).

The cast is again supported by an ensemble of talented singers and dancers.

Sleeping Beauty, sponsored by CityGrab, is produced by award-winning Evolution Productions who are acclaimed for staging some of the UK's top pantos over the past 16 years.

Their recent Lyceum shows Mother Goose and Cinderella were voted Pantomime of the Year at the Great British Pantomime Awards

Emily Wood and Paul Hendy, who started Evolution Productions in 2005, have built a reputation for superior, bespoke pantomimes with the emphasis on high quality production values, strong casting and genuinely funny scripts.

This year they are producing 11 shows nationwide.

Sleeping Beauty is written and directed by Paul Hendy. Choreographer is Sarah Langley ands the musical director is James Harrison.

Sheffield Theatres continues to follow the industry-wide safety protocols and government guidance for indoor entertainment.
