Sheffield theatre show Car Park King is 'Horrible Histories for grown-ups'
Awoken from his car park tomb, Richard accidentally becomes cursed and tries to stop a prophecy and protect his two nephews from danger.
Sound simple? Far from it. From witches, human birds, flamboyant French kings, pragmatic watchmen, murderers, salesmen, lizards, messengers to magical mushrooms, Richard’s journey won’t be easy – but it will be entertaining, promises producer Peter Stone.

The show was described by the British Theatre Guide as ‘Horrible Histories for grown-ups’.
Playwright Jessica McDonagh said: “I adore this period of history and grew up mesmerised by a wide range of comedies which I believe explains the play’s offbeat humour.
“This play was written with the simple aim to make people laugh. My hope is for the audience to have a great time and leave the show curious about the history but also with an amazingly toned jawline after all the laughter!”
The show is on at Theatre Deli, Eyre Street, Sheffield from November 8-9. Box office: theatredeli.co.uk/in-sheffield
