Sheffield College students stage show Hard Times in city industrial museum
Sheffield College performing arts students are showcasing their latest production, with some performances taking place at Kelham Island Industrial Museum.
Seventeen foundation degree students will stage Hard Times, which is based on the Charles Dickens novel of the same name and explores life in a fictional northern manufacturing town.
Performing arts lecturer Jo Beadle said: “This play promises to be exciting and fast moving, has some great characters and is suitable for all ages.”
Student Connor Varley, 21, has progressed to the foundation degree after previously completing a performing arts diploma at the college.
“I’m really loving rehearsing, it’s going really well. I’m putting 110 per cent into it!” said Connor, whose ambition is to become a play or television scriptwriter.
Two promenade shows will be staged at Kelham Island Museum on Monday, November 11 at 5pm and 7pm. Performances will also take place in the drama theatre at the college’s Hillsborough Campus at 7.15pm on Thursday, November 14 and Friday 15.
Free matinees are also available at 1.15pm on both days. For more details, email firstname.lastname@example.org
