Sheffield band Bring Me The Horizon up for two NME Awards

Sheffield rockers Bring Me The Horizon have been nominated for two prestigious NME Awards at this year’s ceremony.

They are up for Best British Band and Best Band in the World, with the winners set to be announced on 12 February at the O2 Academy Brixton.

IDLES, Krept & Konan, The 1975 and The Big Moon make up the other nominees for Best British Band, while Brockhampton, BTS, HAIM, Slipknot and Tame Impala complete the shortlist for Best Band in the World.

The awards celebrate the best of the last 12 months in music.

Bring Me The Horizon’s sixth album Amo soared to the top of the UK charts last year, ending a 28 week run at the summit for The Greatest Showman film soundtrack.

The group have also been nominated for Best British Band at this year’s Brit Awards, which take place on February 18 at The O2 in London.
