It tells the story of Casanova himself, consumed by desires, who lived every minute in a whirlwind of scandal and decadence.

The ballet follows him through his romantic and scholarly endeavours as he winds his way through the excess of 18th century high society.

But behind the mask there was more to Casanova.

This production, choreographed by Tindall, looks inside the heart and mind of one of the most notorious figures in history, exposing a story so sensational audiences won’t believe it’s real.

Tindall, a former principal dancer, is a freelance choreographer and Artistic Director of Digital and Resident Choreographer for Northern Ballet.

His Casanova was first performed and received standing ovations throughout a 2017 tour of the UK, including a sell-out week at Sadler’s Wells.

This sumptuous ballet hasn’t been seen on stage since, although the popularity of the show led to its filming and broadcast on Sky Arts and on demand via Digital Theatre.

With a cinematic score by Kerry Muzzey, played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, plus opulent sets and costumes by Christopher Oram, Casanova is a visual and sensual feast.

Northern Ballet is one of the UK’s leading ballet companies and the widest touring ballet company in the UK.

Bold and innovative in its approach, Northern Ballet is prolific at creating new full-length work with a unique blend of strong classical technique and impressive storytelling.

Its repertoire embraces popular culture and takes inspiration from literature, legend, opera and the classics, pushing the boundaries of what stories can be told through dance.
