Nightflix Drive-in Festival at Newark Showground now August 15 to 23

The Nightflix Drive-in Festival was to have been held over nine nights with top tribute acts performing from this weekend at Newark Showground, in Nottinghamshire.

Now, due to unforeseen circumstances and so fans can enjoy the ‘optimum experience’ within the parameters of changing COVID-19 safety measures, it has been moved to August 15 to 23.

From the comfort and safety of their own cars, with the opportunity to dance around their vehicles and stretch their legs, as long as they observe the latest social distancing rules, music lovers will get to see some of the UK’s top live tribute acts performing greatest hits of Abba, Take That, Elvis, Elton John and more.

And throughout July the venue will now become a Nightflix Drive-in Cinema to screen classic movies including Independence Day, Back to the Future, The Matrix and Pretty Woman.

BOOK NOW: Live show tickets are from £39, plus £1.75 booking fee, per vehicle. Cinema tickets are £27, with £1.75 booking fee, also per vehicle - CLICK HERE.

“ Our Nightflix Drive-in Festival is moving dates from July to August so that you can have the optimum experience within the parameters of the prevailing guidance around COVID-19,” said a spokesperson.

“Nightflix anticipate that August will offer even greater freedom for our guests to picnic and dance around their cars and therefore enhance your evening.

“All existing ticket holders have been sent an email with further information on your booking and a complimentary drive-in cinema ticket so that you can still have a great evening out in July!

“This does mean that our Nightflix Drive-in Cinema can now launch earlier at Newark and films are being added to the line-up.”

With the UK currently still in lockdown, but restrictions easing, the events have been created with safety in mind.

Take That tribute act Rule The World play Wednesday, August 19

Drive-in guests will be asked to adhere to government guidelines regarding mixing households but they are allowing a car full of people to enjoy the show, within legal limits, with just one ticket price per car.

There will be food and drinks for people to buy on site, including tasty mocktails for the evening, but no alcohol will be served.

Nightflix has partnered with local charity Home Start Newark – the charity offers support to local families with children, or a child under five-years, who are struggling to cope.

Each ticket sale for the revised schedule will see a donation going to Home Start, so helping out families in the local community.

Abba tribute act Sensation will perform on Friday, August 21

Sara Grant, Senior Organiser, said: "Home-Start Newark are delighted to be chosen as a charity partner for these Nightflix Drive-In Festivals.

“We are overwhelmed with their generosity. These funds will help us to continue to provide our vital support for local families during this very challenging time."
