Released in September 1981, Penthouse and Pavement reached No. 14 on the UK Albums Chart and earned a Gold certification the following year. Blending hard-hitting funk, politically charged lyrics, and groundbreaking electronic sounds, the album became a defining masterpiece of its era and a cornerstone of the early synth movement. Its lasting impact has since earned it a rightful place in ‘1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die’.

‘This will be a fantastic tour to celebrate the influence that Penthouse and Pavement had on a generation of electronic funk lovers - we can’t wait!’ said Martyn Ware ahead of his hometown return.

‘I’m a Heaven 17 fan, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Penthouse and Pavement is the best album they ever made’, added vocalist Glenn Gregory, who will also be making his own hometown return when Heaven 17 head to London’s iconic O2 Shepherds Bush Empire as part of the Penthouse and Pavement 45th Anniversary tour.

As a foundational band of the British post-punk movement, Heaven 17 laid a groundwork for modern music that still resonates today. Their immense musical legacy is celebrated by a devoted fanbase, encompassing both longtime followers from the early days and fans gained across their vibrant career.
