It’s that time of the year – when fireworks are popularly used from bonfire night, right up to New Years eve. While displays can be visually brilliant, they often leave our furry friends in a state of anguish at the sound of the first blast.

According to research carried out by the RSPCA, just under half (45 percent) of dogs in the UK, display signs of fear when hearing fireworks. This means many house pets can suddenly behave unpredictably when feeling stressed, showing signs of restlessness, shaking, cowering, barking, scratching, panting, pacing and whining.

Pet owners across the UK have continuously struggled to find a solution. However, according to studies, playing music can act as a remedy for pets, helping to mask the noise and create a soothing effect.

Leading pet food brand, Webbox, recognises this extremely anxious time for house pets and has therefore created the ultimate firework season playlist to create a calming atmosphere for pets.

According to research by the Scottish SPCA and The University of Glasgow, reggae and soft rock have been proven to be the most effective musical genres to relieve anxiety in dogs, due to the relaxing rhythm mirroring their own heart rates.

Webbox has incorporated the perfect balance of reggae and soft rock songs into their very own playlist, which can be enjoyed by both pet and owner.
