Call for new faces to join one of Sheffield's oldest theatre group
The troupe is preparing for My Fair Lady in April 2027
A musical theatre society with more than a century of history is looking for new members to join the cast of its next production at Rotherham Civic Theatre.
CAOS Musical Theatre Society has been entertaining audiences across Sheffield and South Yorkshire since 1924 and, following recent productions including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Beauty and the Beast and Oliver!, the group is getting ready to do it all again next year, and would love some new faces to join them.
Established in 1924, CAOS Musical Theatre Society is one of Sheffield's oldest musical theatre groups.
Lee Hilton-Brammer, chairman, said: “Whether you’re an experienced performer, haven’t been on stage since school or have never performed before, you’ll be made very welcome.
“There is no audition needed to become a member, just a willingness to get involved, meet new people and have some fun along the way. CAOS members have all levels of experience, from people who have performed for many years to those who joined having never stepped onto a stage before.
“The society rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7.45pm to 10pm at The School Rooms behind High Green Methodist Church in Sheffield.
“It’s not all about rehearsals and performances either, as CAOS also has a busy social calendar throughout the year, making it a great way to meet new people, make friends and become part of a welcoming local community.
“Next up is My Fair Lady, one of musical theatre’s best-loved shows, featuring famous songs including Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?, Get Me to the Church on Time, I Could Have Danced All Night and On the Street Where You Live.
“If you’ve ever sat in the audience and thought 'I’d love to do that', this could be your chance.
“You don’t need experience and you don’t need to have performed before - just come along and see what CAOS is all about.
“You’ll have the chance to hear all about My Fair Lady, find out what’s involved and meet some of the people you could soon be sharing the stage with.”
