After selling over five million albums, winning two Brit Awards and performing in front of 700,000 fans, the chart-topping pop pin-ups- James, Matt and Charlie - broke millions of hearts when they split up.

But they are back for a 13 date Pigs Can Fly UK tour, including a date at Sheffield Arena on Tuesday, May 17.

Now Matt is hoping pregnant wife and Big Brother TV presenter Emma will save his bacon and have the baby early.

Their third child is due the first week in May...just days before the tour starts.

"It shouldn't effect the tour. She's due about five days before. I've got a feeling it might be a little bit early," Matt says.

To which Charlie replies, hopefully: "Do you?"

"I do," says Matt. "I think it might be early this one. I think we'll be fine and we'll have a couple of days, then we go off for a week and we're back.

"We don't know if it's going to be a little boy or a girl, we're keeping it a surprise. We've a couple of names floating around but we'll see."

James came up with the Pigs Can Fly tour name because it really was the reunion that nobody thought would happen.

He said: We always thought there was more chance of pigs flying than the band coming back. So when the band did reunite I thought, 'oh, pigs can fly'. Anything can happen. Anything is possible."

Charlie, who had quit to pursue a career fronting alternative rock band Fightstar, added: "There was a very real chance this wouldn't happen. All of us thought that."

For almost a decade Busted appeared to be history.

Then Matt and James joined McFly to form supergroup McBusted for a tour and and a album two years ago.

And now the unthinkable. Charlie is back with his two band mates, they have written a new album - out in the autumn - and they are going back on the road.

It follows a successful secret writing session, which resulted in Busted recording their third studio album in Los Angeles.

Charlie said: "I said many times it was not something I wanted to pursue again. It was only after we got back in contact and realised there was a creative middle ground we thought we could pursue new music, which is what's been very exciting for us, being in the studio and creating new records."

The forthcoming album, even the title, remains top secret - the band are keeping tight lipped, even when asked if it's going to be called Pigs Can Fly.

But fans will get a sneak peek of their first new songs since 2004 on the tour.

Busted are also promising all the hits from album one and two, Busted (2002) and A Present for Everyone (2003) - including number one singles You Said No, Crashed The Wedding, Who's David and Thunderbirds Are Go/3AM.

Greatest hits from the Essex boys also include 2002 debut single What I Go to School For, Year 3000, Sleeping with the Light On, Air Hostess and She Wants to Be Me.

Their first show together in 12 years – and the first time in a dozen years anyone will have seen the three members play all their greatest hits together live – will be on Wednesday, May 11.

For the gig Busted will return to the home of their biggest triumph, the venue where anybody last saw them, at Wembley Arena, where they broke a record in 2004 by selling out an incredible 12 shows.

Matt said: “For me, there’s a huge sense of unfinished business … I always thought in my heart we’d do Busted again, but that it was just a matter of when and how."

James added: "We’ve done this crazy, exciting, adventurous, scenic route back to being Busted. And now we're here, we’re all super-re-energised”

As for McBusted, it may not be the end of the road - but Charlie suggested he wouldn't be involved if there was a next time around.

He said: "You know what, I think that's Matt and James' thing. I don't know McFly as well as these guys do. So I think that's there thing."

Matt added: "McBusted was an awesome part of our lives. It was a great time. It just feels now this is Busted's time. McBusted had to finish for that to happen. Who knows what's going to happen next?"

Special guests on their Pigs Can Fly tour are Teenage Dirtbag hitmakers Wheatus and YouTube sensation Emma Blackery, who will join the band across UK and Ireland.
