Arson probe at flats fire

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into a fire in a unoccupied Sheffield flat, in Gaunt Way, Hemsworth, which may have been targeted by arsonists on Saturday evening.

The back door was destroyed and the rest of the flat was severely smoke damaged.

•n Firefighters battled for around 24 hours to put out a fire which swept through 53 bales of hay. Crews from Rotherham were called to the blaze on grazing land off Warren Vale in Rawmarsh around 1pm on Saturday and were still at the scene yesterday afternoon.
