3-year town centre ban

A CHESTERFIELD criminal serving time behind bars for a catalogue of offences has been banned from the town centre for three years as part of an ASBO that will come into force on his release.

Ian Kerr, aged 34, of Queen Victoria Road, New Tupton, is serving 24 weeks in prison for possession of a blade, common assault, two thefts from a shop and an attempted theft from a car, and will be the subject of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.

The ASBO means he will be arrested if he enters Chesterfield town centre or if he is spotted with alcohol in an open bottle, can or glass in any public place anywhere in Derbyshire.

He could face up to five years behind bars if he breaches the order.
