Weather conditions cause havoc on city's bus routes as Sheffield remains in Storm Darcy’s icy grip

Both Stagecoach and FirstBus have announced a series of change to routes and services, after vehicles were unable to complete their journeys.

These include the Stagecoach 52 which is terminating at Broomhill and the Stagecoach 120 whch has had to stop at Ranmoor.

Also affected are the FirstBus 120 which is unable to access High Green and Hollowgate and the FirstBus97 which will terminate at Totley.

More snow is forecast to fall over the next 24 hours but an amber weather warning issued for the region has now been replaced by a less serious yellow one.

Yesterday, South Yorkshire Police advised people to stay at home wherever possible and that ‘no journey was worth the risk’ of endangering your own or others safety.

The current cold snap is beijng driven by freezing air from Eastern Europe, with the current condtions forecast to last into the weekend.
