Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Moore is the latest man to see the betting odds on his name tumble, falling to third favourite yesterday.

The 46-year-old former West Brom boss is into his second season with Rovers and is enjoying his time there having been just six points shy of the League One playoff places with a game in hand when the League One campaign was curtailed last time out.

Fourth-placed Doncaster are well-placed to go a little further this season and can go within two points of table-topping Lincoln City should they win their two games currently in hand.

Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Moore has been linked with the vacant managerial job at Sheffield Wednesday.

Links to the Wednesday job seem to have gone down well with supporters, though The Star is led to believe that as it stands, there has been no contact from the club towards Moore or Doncaster and that reports suggesting otherwise are wide of the mark.

Moore, who saw club captain and talisman Ben Whiteman move on to Preston North End last week, is understood to be happy with the progress he is making at the Keepmoat Stadium and is on a one-year rolling deal.

His is the latest name to be linked with the Wednesday role having joined the likes of Vladimir Ivic and Paul Cook among the bookies’ favourites.

Cook, who speaking on national radio last week said that initial talks with the Owls had fallen flat, remains the overwhelming favourite among supporters. Reports in Serbia suggesting former Watford boss Ivic had been offered the job were not correct.
