The buses were all stuck behind the black Audi A4 on Batemoor Drive for more than half an hour this afternoon, leaving dozens of passengers angry and frustrated.

The driver had reportedly been seen dropping the car off on the busy road, but was nowhere to be found when the buses became stuck.

The bus drivers called the police to find the person responsible, but eventually had to back up without visiting most of the south Sheffield estate.

One passenger, who preferred to remain nameless, said she couldn’t believe how someone could be so stupid as to park in such an inconsiderate manner.

She said: “I can’t walk far but had to walk half way round the estate to get home. Luckily my daughter was with me and helped.

“There were two number ones and two number 75s waiting. The way they had parked you could hardly get a car through.

“People said the woman driver was in one of the flats but no one could find her so they had to turn around.

“It is the first time I have caught a bus in ages and this happens. I never thought anyone would be so stupid as to park like this woman did.”

The witness added that when the bus drivers called the police, they were reportedly told that no one would be available to attend the incident for ten hours.
