Willett a star in Walker Cup
ROTHERHAM Golf Club's Danny Willett played a full part in the GB and Ireland side which narrowly lost 12.5 to 11.5 to the USA who retained the Walker Cup at Royal County Down.
Willett, the English Amateur champion making his Walker Cup debut, figured in a thrilling singles match yesterday against the US Amateur champion Colt Knost.
Willett led to the 17th when a wayward second shot proved costly and Knost levelled before, on the last green, Willett sank a superb 20 footer to ensure a half.
