Top Under-18 players in Graves event

Top tennis players from around the country are in Sheffield for a high-profile event.

Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre is hosting AEGON 18U Tennis County Cup action which started yesterday and runs until Sunday at the Sheffield International Venues (SIV) facility.

Young tennis talent from all over the UK are competing.

The competition follows the successful Tennis Europe Girls U12 Finals held at the beginning of the month.

Mark Cowen, general manager at Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre: “The county cup gives young players the chance to represent their county at regional competitions throughout the year.

“It’s fantastic that Graves has been chosen to host this important event and it demonstrates the high standards of our facilities. We are looking forward to the event and wish everyone competing good luck.”

The competition is free for spectators with the action starting at 9am each morning.

The centre offers coaching to children aged three years and upwards and boasts 16 tennis courts - six indoor acrylic tennis courts, and ten outdoor floodlit courts.
