Tigers stall over return for star duo

TIGERS chief Neil Machin has once again refused to comment on a possible Owlerton return for Kyle Legault and Lee Complin next season. The Owlerton side have their strongest asset base ever with a string of riders currently out on loan to clubs elsewhere.

Complin has been a sensation with Stoke on his return to the sport after a five-year self-imposed absence and Canadian Legault has developed superbly with a season at Mildenhall.

Both riders would be welcomed back to Sheffield with open arms by the fans - but, with a massive meeting against Newport coming up tomorrow, Machin prefers to focus on the class of 07.

"It's all about here and now for us," he said. "How can we focus on next season when we don't even know the rules and what the situation will be with team building constraints?

"The door is open to all our assets right now. We have virtually a blank piece of paper for next season and some hard decisions may have to be made, but I'm used to that. I've made a few down the years.

"We have a massive meeting with Newport coming up tomorrow. We know we have to beat them to qualify for the play-offs and the boys will be going for it.

"It's unfair to start talking about the team for next season when we need all our riders on top of their game against Newport and then, hopefully, in the play-off semi-finals.

"I'm backing my riders to do the business and make it through and there is no reason why we cannot go forward and challenge for the league title. We got to the final last year, so why can't we do it again?

"For that reason, we have to focus on the riders representing the club here and now."
