Tickhill take on the Tykes

TICKHILL CC will stage a benefit match against Yorkshire next Thursday - the fifth successive year they have hosted the county club.

Yorkshire’s director of cricket, Martyn Moxon, will bring a strong side to the South Yorkshire League club’s picturesque Alderson Drive ground and organisers hope there will be a number of their top stars figuring.

The game starts at 1.30 and will help raise funds for the Yorkshire Academy.

Tickhill - chasing promotion to the SYL Premier - will have a barbecue, a bar and competitions to win cricket and non-cricket prizes.

“It is always an excellent day and is the seventh time in the last 20 years we’ve had Yorkshire down here,” said Tickhill’s Brian Robinson.
