Have your say

DEAR, oh dear. It’s all going wrong at Hillsborough with another defeat - this time at the hands of Hull City - sending Wednesday into the relegation zone.

On the unthinkable is happening; correspondents are beginning to question the survival chances of manager Dave Jones.

kojam said: “I still hope DJ turns it round! I don’t like anyone getting the sack plus it would be a costly payoff and costly to start another managerial contract! Money that could be better used on players! If we are speculating tho I have always been a fan of mick McCarthy! Thought he did a great job at wolves getting them up an keeping them up, playing for the cause and with not too much to spend! Plus he will never shy away from making decisions or taking blame! As I say I want DJ to turn it round, but wouldn’t be overly upset to see big mick!”

Devonwiseowl added: “It’s funny how some think it’s knee jerk to sack DJ now. If MM were to wait and wait until say Christmas, then dismiss DJ there would be stacks of abuse if we went down, saying he had taken too long to act. The fact is, those of you saying he shouldn’t sack him yet have nothing to lose in real terms. OK your team might go down, but you won’t get any hassle from other fans, or lose any of your own money. We all know that MM can’t win. He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.”

However, Flotter saw some positives: “I thought Wednesday played some good football at times today, Bothroyd looked fitter & sharper despite having asthma problems at one point & having to leave the pitch. The teams were evenly balanced but we just seemed to miss a bit of spark & made very few mistakes. The back 4 looking much better & Llera gets twice as involved as some players, saving us at one end of the pitch & scoring what should have been the first goal.”

In League One, United’s star continues to rise. Bart the blade wrote: “Great result Blades, feared the worst without Collins and losing Howard early on but showed real commitment and togetherness at the back. I have often criticised Hill but he is making me eat my words, was superb today and Blackman is worth persevering with as he showed with the goal.”

Silverblade commented: “Yep early days yet and don’t want to get carried away but it was a brilliant performance to come away with the points at a difficult place to come.”
