EVERYTHING looks rosy in the Sheffield garden again.
United secured a deserved 2-0 victory at Brentford to arrest their dip in form while Wednesday cruised to a 3-0 triumph over Bournemouth.
With runaway leaders Charlton and fourth-placed Huddersfield, things could not have gone much better for the Sheffield duo.
Wednesday boy posted on thestar.co.uk: “Well another good win for Wednesday. Looks like Dave Jones is staying with the same formation of players, once again Michail Antonio is the key player. He will link up well once JJ is back.
“Lowe is another player that didn’t get enough games under Gary Megson, and now it’s paying off. The Blunts have a game in hand but that counts for nothing with Wednesday only one point behind them. Wednesday have got to continue the good run as well as MK Dons and Huddersfield have both got games in hand.”
OneDavidHirst also paid tribute to the Owls in the wake of their second successive home win.
He acknowledged: “I fully admit to being unhappy at Gary Megson’s sacking but the result at Rochdale and the following result against Bury shows the reason why Milan Mandaric acted in the way he did. As for yesterday, a great display that lost momentum for me when Dave Jones switched Antonio to the left. However, this was probably to protect Julian Bennett who was shocking. All in all a great preformance from the lads.”
Ched Evans double either side of half time at Griffin Park helped United get back to winning ways and manorblade believes boss Danny Wilson deserves plenty of credit for halting their poor run of results.
“Fantastic result on Saturday. Danny Wilson changed the Blades style of play.Instead of trying to dominate for 90 minutess, once we took the lead, we sat back and made sure our defence was tight and hit them on the break. As a result we limited them to long range shots and could have had a hat full.
“This is a sign that the team is maturing and Danny has a Plan B. More of the same at Colchester and we are back in the driving seat.”
Floridablade added: “Well done the Blades. We needed them three points. Going to be a very good finish to the season; need three points on Tuesday to get that gap between us and Wednesday.”
Silverblade claimed: “I think Wednesday could come back down to earth against Notts county next week.”
