Not too much was expected of Heather Watson in her first match for more than two months, but the British No.2 could not hide her disappointment at losing in the first round of the French Open.
The 21-year-old had not played since March because of glandular fever and lost 6-4 2-6 6-4 to Swiss Stefanie Voegele. She said: “I’m really disappointed. I saw the draw. I thought I had a good draw and a good chance to get through.”
