Ben Swift says the possible arrival of sprint sensation Mark Cavendish at Team Sky would be a mixed blessing for his own career.
Cavendish, the first Brit to win the green jersey at the Tour de France last month, says he knows whether he will be staying with his current HTC-Highroad team or moving to Sky. However, he isn’t set to make an announcement for a fortnight.
Swift, aged 23, from Rotherham, whose two-year deal with Sky ends this season, said: “If he didn’t come it would be better for me, but if he does that’s good too.
“I’m negotiating at the moment with Sky but there are a few offers around. I think I’ll still be here (with Sky). It is the best place for me while I’m developing.”
