Sam Hutchinson has been named as the Sheffield Wednesday Player of the Year at tonight's Star Football Awards.
Gareth Kinneavy and the Star’s Owls writer Dom Howson and Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal presented Hutchinson with the award.
Hutchinson clinched the award ahead of Ross Wallace and Keiren Westwood.
The level of performance from Hutchinson has been on an upward trajectory over the last few seasons.
Versatile, aggressive and increasingly composed, he has been a real driving force for Sheffield Wednesday.
Whether dropping back to cover at centre half or playing a terrier role in the middle of the park, Hutchinson's levels of consistency have been exceptional.
He will draw thunderous applause for a crunching tackle, and he certainly likes those, but also for showing real composure on the ball. He has been a vital part of the Owls’ promotion push.
