Billy Sharp and John Fleck have been named as the winners of the Sheffield United Player of the Year at tonight's Star Football Awards.
Atkinsons' floor manager Ben Kerry and buyer David Rose, along with the Star’s Blades writer James Shield and Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder presented the award.
The pair beat teammate Paul Coutts to share the award.
The standard of individual performances this season left judges unable to choose between Fleck and Sharp.
Sharp was described as the star striker and captain who wears his heart on his sleeve and has banged in the goals this season, reaching 29 with a game to spare.
Incredibly lethal, he has proven once again if he is given a chance inside the box, he’s very likely to take it.
Fleck was described as a midfielder with quality beyond League One level, who has been a real catalyst for the superb attacking performances of the Blades during their incredible campaign.
With class in abundance, he is surely going to make a significant impact on the Championship next season.
