TIGERS owner Neil Machin says the next few days could make or break their chances of pushing for the Premier League title.
The Owlerton side were knocked off top spot by Glasgow at the weekend and the Scottish side are clear favourites to go on and win it.
But Machin is refusing to give up and says maximum points from Thursday’s home meeting with Scunthorpe followed by a good win at Leicester this Saturday could turn it around.
He said: “It’s a massive week for us and we have to be firing on all cylinders, we cannot afford anybody to be below their best.
“Scunthorpe will come here with our former mascot Ben Wilson, who loves the Owlerton track and always enjoys coming back and riding against us.
“And in David Howe they have one of the top riders in the Premier League so there is no way we can afford to take them for granted, and we won’t.
“We need three points from Thursday’s meeting and then we need to go to Leicester and win by more than six which would give us four league points.
“Glasgow are looking strong and powerful but we have to do all we can to keep in contention and keep up the pressure on the teams around us.”
