Tigers’ fear over Klaus absence

Have your say

SHEFFIELD boss Neil Machin hopes the absence of Klaus Jakobsen doesn’t cost his side again as they take on Newcastle tomorrow (7pm).

Tigers lost out on league points at both Workington and Ipswich with the injury to Dane Jakobsen playing a part and arguably costing them a consolation point at both tracks.

Machin expects tomorrow’s meeting to be the last his side face without a full team, but hopes they aren’t made to pay once again.

He said: “In terms of results, injuries are always going to have an adverse affect on your team but I hope we aren’t coming away from Newcastle thinking we missed out because of our problem at number six.

“Suitable guests are very hard to come by and we put an awful lot of work in to finding the right person.

“Newcastle is a very specialist track and there aren’t many lower-order riders who have a good record around there, so options are thin on the ground.
