Tigers bid to make amends for night of horror

TIGERS will be intent on revenge when to go in search of more Premier League points at Berwick tonight (7pm).

The last time they went to Shielfield Park they lost both Hugh Skidmore and Ashley Birks through injury and were already without Emiliano Sanchez before the meeting.

And it was also the weekend when news emerged from Germany that Josh Auty had suffered a broken ankle in a World Under-21 qualifier.

Now club owner Neil Machin says it’s time to banish the memories of a tough night for the club.

He said: “It was one of those nights back in June when whatever could go wrong for us did go wrong. There were some races where we could only put out one rider.

“But we’re on a good run of form and our confidence is high after the win over Rye House so the lads are really up for it right now and I believe we can go to Berwick and work them hard.

“If Berwick underestimate us then they will be foolish, but knowing their management they will have their riders up for the challenge.”

Berwick bolstered their side with the signing of Swedish star Ludvig Lindgren on a doubling-up basis with Wolverhampton in July and Sebastian Alden has been bought from Swindon.

But they’ll be without Kozza Smith who crashed heavily in mid-week and suffered a dislocated shoulder.

Tigers will be unchanged from the side which demolished Rye House 69-21 at Owlerton on Thursday when Josh Auty, Shane Parker and Simon Lambert went through the meeting unbeaten by a Rye House rider.
