TIGERS are hoping to prove Ipswich boss Pete Simmons wrong after his comments on TV, when the sides meet at Owlerton tonight (7.45).
The Witches manager said on Sky Sports that he sees chinks in the Sheffield armour and that his side are targeting an away win against a slightly weaker Sheffield team than in recent years.
Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: “We were devastated to lose at home last week and need to bounce back. We went some way towards doing that at Berwick on Saturday but now we need to make sure we win at home. The Witches were very strongly fancied by the experts as this season got underway and you only have to just take a look at their averages to see what a good side they are and their injury problems this year have had a huge effect on their results.
“It’s a very powerful side; the trio of Kevin Doolan, Dakota North and Rohan Tungate will be the ones to watch because they are all in good form but they have strength all the way through. If you add in the likes of Leigh Lanham, Matt Tresarrieu, Morten Risager and Cameron Heeps it shows you how good they can be - there will be no complacency from us. I know their team manager fancies their chances but we will be doing everything in our power to make sure that they go back to Suffolk disappointed.”
Tigers will use the rider replacement facility for Emiliano Sanchez who is injured but they are confident skipper Richard Hall will return to the side.
