Sheffield chief David Hoggart says “time is running out” as they look to resurrect their season.

Despite a bright start, the Tigers have collapsed in recent weeks – suffering six consecutive defeats in all competitions.

Hoggart has praised heat leader trio Simon Stead, Richard Hall and Ricky Wells for their performances so far.

Yet Stead and Hall currently remain on the sidelines through injury – and although the club are optimistic they will be back soon, Hoggart acknowledges changes are necessary.

He said: “Time is running out and we know that. The last couple of weeks haven’t been good at all and we need things to pick up as soon as possible. Whilst our new guys are still trying to get to grips we’re effectively a three man team with Simon, Richard and Ricky Wells.

“They’ve been an absolute credit so far, and helped to give the new guys some knowledge, but with both Richard and Simon suffering with injuries we need to get them back as soon as possible.”

Tigers’ meeting at Somerset was abandoned last night.
