Captain Simon Stead says Sheffield have some unfinished business with rivals Scunthorpe ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash at Owlerton (7.45).
Stead says the League Cup defeat at the hands of the Scorpions last month was hard to stomach – but there were reasons behind it.
Now Tigers have bolstered their side with the inclusion of Ty Proctor who makes his delayed debut for the team.
Stead said: “We have unfinished business against Scunthorpe and we need to put it right tonight.
“We were caught napping by them when we met them previously and when we get together tonight we will be reminding ourselves about that. We owe them one.
“I have to say we fear nobody now. Ty Proctor is a classy rider who can certainly add strength at the top end of the team and I’m sure he’s up for a big night.
“Scunthorpe have a good team this season and they will be a tough nut to crack, but after the long gap between meetings because of the rain we are ready to go.
“It’s always frustrating when there is such a big gap but hopefully the fans are as hungry for this as we are.”
Proctor has been named at number five in the Tigers side after finally completing his Owlerton move a week ago.
Scunthorpe have drafted in Sam Masters as a guest replacement for the injured Anders Mellgren. They were originally due to include Nicolai Klindt but the Dane is required in his home country and will now join the Scorpions on Friday.
Tigers squad: Stead, Poole, Lanham, Compton, Proctor, Nielsen, Bates.
Scunthorpe Scorpions squad: Masters, Howe, Auty, Birks, Douglas, Williamson, Jorgensen.
