SIMON Nielsen has revealed how he hardly slept after Sheffield’s defeat at home to Scunthorpe on Thursday.

And the Dane says tonight’s trip to Rye House can’t come round quick enough after he managed only a point in the 49-41 setback at the hands of their rivals.

It was the worst possible start for Sheffield in their Premier League campaign and left club bosses scratching their heads for answers.

Said Nielsen: “I’m not going to make excuses, that just wasn’t good enough and I know I have to do better. I will just have to work harder.

“I didn’t sleep much on Thursday night and I know tonight’s meeting can’t come soon enough for me. I have something to prove now to the manager, Joe Screen.”

But Sheffield don’t have a good record at the Hoddesdon track which is small and technical.

The Rockets are led by GB international Edward Kennett and have a strong reserve in Jason Garrity who has been named in the Great Britain Under 21 side for the World Team Cup semi-final in Germany next month.

RYE HOUSE: Edward Kennett, Luke Bowen, Jason Bunyan, Steve Boxall, Mat Tresarrieu, Jason Garrity, Simon Lambert.

SHEFFIELD: Simon Stead, Taylor Poole, Leigh Lanham, Andre Compton, Ty Proctor, Simon Nielsen, Josh Bates.
